HISTORY AND HERITAGE
A visit to the Carp Observatory is truly one of a kind. This impressive facility is Canada's former NATO Satellite Communications Uplink which played an important role in the story of Canada and its part in the Cold War.

EXPERIENCE THE OBSERVATORY
Past
Come peek inside the radomes, marvel at the size and scale, and get up close and personal with the satellite dish used by the Department of Defence and NATO during the Cold War.
Present
The Carp Observatory's 13 meter diameter dish and antenna is fully functional to this day, and is actively used by the Canadian Centre for Experimental Radio Astronomy (CCERA) for ongoing research.
Future
